Upcoming Auditions

In case you're interested....

"The Biggest Loser" is hosting an open casting call for next season on February 28 here in downtown Nashville at the Wildhorse Saloon. I've always wanted to workout with Bob & Jillian, but I'm thinking I wouldn't qualify...

SO, if weight loss isn't your thing, consider joining me as I **consider** joining the open casting call for "Can You Duet?". It's coming up on March 7, also at the Wildhorse Saloon. I'm considering bribery or blackmail on a few of my friends who have been known to pick up a karaoke mic with me. My good friend Anna and I have a few options....she & I have been known to do a rousing rendition of "Material Girl", complete with 80's dance moves.

Or, maybe I can talk our friend Kevin into auditioning with me. We've just about perfected our "Copacabana" routine.

Serious things to think about here...

Biggest Loser--the Biggest Finale!

Oh, we've worked so hard to get to this point, readers, and here we are!!!

The goosebumps have already formed on my arms and my eyes are already teary. This is the best episode. This is why we watch! This is what makes it all worth it! I love seeing the look of satisfaction and peace and happiness on their faces when they show up at the finale having more than reached their goals.

Here we go:

Recap, recap, recap. It's amazing to watch the recaps and see the contestants from the beginning--they have changed so much!

Recap, recap, recap.

Recap, more recap, followed by a touch more recap.

Ed vs. Heba:
Who did I vote for? Well, no one, actually. But, who did America vote for? Let's take a look.

Let's see how Heba did at home...SHE LOOKS AMAZING!!!!! She does not look like the same person. Beautiful, simply beautiful.

Let's check out Ed now....NO WAY! He is looking so good! Again, like a totally different person.

I'm so proud of the orange team!

ED WON AMERICA'S VOTE. Even though he pled (pleaded?) for America to vote for Heba. Ed blamed the economy....I think it's because Heba was so tight with mean ol' Vicki the whole season and everybody wanted to punish her for that. I do feel bad for her. That has got to be humiliating....I truly feel sorry for her.

Now it's time to see the 13 elminated contestants:

And they just look great. I especially can't believe how good the ladies look! Stacey takes the lead early on, followed by Phil just shortly, followed by Amy! Amy & Phil (husband and wife/red team) were SO close in their weight loss percentages, but Amy just BARELY won. Good for her!

Heba's weighing in now. And, did she beat Amy? YES. Heba won the "at home" biggest loser. Too bad--I wish somebody who truly did it "at home" would've won.

The Final Weigh In

Vicky, Ed, and Michelle are going to show us their new look. The ladies are having all kinds of trouble walking in their heels tonight! Vicky almost bit the dust, same as Heba earlier in the show.

Before they weigh in, however, I REALLY hope we can get a little recap about the season. NOT. Come on, people! We have had all the recap we need! Get on with it! If you took away all the unnecessary recap and product place (Subway!) ads...you'd probably have a 45 minute show. Which would be just fine, y'all.

Ed: Starting Weight 335. Ending weight: 196. 139 pounds lost for 41.% weigh loss!

Vicky: Starting Weight 246. Ending weight: 145. 101 pounds lost for 41.06% weight loss. CLOSE, but no cigar. I'm kinda glad...I was not her biggest fan.

Michelle: Starting Weight 242. Ending weight: 132. 110 pounds lost for 45% weight loss.

YEAH!!! Michelle won! Way to go...

The Biggest Loser, Week 11, Dec 2

NEW YORK CITY! Makeovers! Tyra Banks Show! Sounds like heaven. Well, maybe not heaven, but sounds pretty fun.

They all look fabulous with their new hairstyles and clothes! Heba is absolutely beautiful, don't you think? And I love Renee's hair short like that. She was too old to have hair that long before. Looks fab now!

Vicky seems to be straightening up a bit in this hour. Did you see this blog that was on yahoo's homepage today? She is making quite a name for herself this season as "Reality TV's Biggest Villain."

The Challenge
They have to wedge themselves between two pieces of plexiglass over a pool of water--about 12 feet up in the air. The person who hangs on longest gets a 2 week ranch vacation. (No, not the one that I lost earlier this week, a different one.) Vicky takes herself out of the competition right away and has some major aquaphobia going on. BUT she doesn't jump.....she just sits there and refuses to jump because she's afraid. One by one they all drop out except MICHELLE (YEAH FOR THE BLACK TEAM!).

Vicky sits up there still until Ed jumps in the water to help her. Not sure what that was all about. I couldn't tell if it was all a big show or play for sympathy or what. Your thoughts?

The Weigh In
Vicky: Lost 4 Pounds (down to 176 pounds)
Renee: Lost 4 Pounds (down to 195 pounds)
Michelle: Lost 5 Pounds (down to 171 pounds)
Ed: Lost 3 Pounds (down to 250)
Heba: Lost 7 Pounds (down to 217)

Looks like Ed & Renee will be in the elimination room...

Elimination
Renee is going home. She almost made it to the finals...but it was not meant to be.
Love her speech at the end! "I may not be the biggest loser, but I feel like I'm the biggest winner for being here." TEAR JERKER!

How's she look now?
Wowwee! She's lost 95 pounds. That's amazing. love her hair, makeup, wardrobe. She's doing great!

OK, people. We're almost done. Only 2 episodes left. Next week is a regular episode to figure out who will be in the finale and then there's the live finale!!!

Biggest Loser, Nov 25, Week 10

This week starts off with everyone acknowledging what I surmised last week...AMY!!! You will rue the day you did not vote Vicky off the ranch. Amy is under the impression that she & Vicky are all hunky dory...not so. Vicky will not rest until Amy is gone. She still doesn't trust her.

NFL Week
Jerry Rice & some other guy are there to teach them some football drills. Everybody gets angry at Vicky because she seemed to be "onto" the whole gig and knew they would have to do it again. She held back in the first round and easily improved her time on the 2nd round and won the prize (money for kids' school programs, I believe). This just made everybody else quite miffed.

Rocco Cooks
Good tips for reducing the fat/calories on Thanksgiving dishes. Amy is cute with her little crush on Rocco! I love how they're all toasting each other with.....glasses of water.

Weigh In:
Amy: Lost 5 pounds (168 lb)
Heba: Lost 7 pounds (224 lb)
Ed: Lost 9 pounds (252 lb)
Vicky: Lost 7 pounds (180 lb)
Renee: Lost 8 pounds (199 lb)
Michelle: Lost 10 POUNDS!!! (176 lb)

AMAZING. Oh my goodness. I cannot believe Michelle & Renee, black team, PULLED IT OFF!!!

Heba & Amy are up for elimination....and as you probably already guessed, I'm sure Amy is kicking herself right now--she completely messed it up for herself when she didn't vote Vicky off last week.

ELIMINATION:
Amy is going home...just as we ALL predicted.

She looks just absolutely amazing after her makeover! I thought she looked fabulous before, but now she is just radiant.

G'night.

Biggest Loser, Week 9 Nov 18

Recap from last week: MAJOR drama. Amy voted Brady off--(Vicky's husband.) Vicky is viciously vindictive. (That right there was some good alliteration, huh? My English degree finally gets used!) Heba and Ed are very quiet during Vicky's rants and raves about her anger toward Amy. It's confusing because Vicky has been PLAYING the game this whole time and now when Amy makes an obvious choice to play the game as well, Vicky acts shocked and betrayed. HELLO! There's only ONE Biggest Loser each season.....

So, it's 80's Week. This should be entertaining.

And, yes it is. These outfits are outrageous (more alliteration for ya).

Ziplock. Product Placement Palooza (What's the word of the day? Alliteration.)

Amy. Amy, Amy, Amy. Why are you making apologies to Vicky for voting the way you did last week? Really. Amy! You have nothing to apologize for! You voted to win the game!

Weigh In:
Michelle: Lost 8 pounds
Renee: Lost 8 pounds
Ed: Lost 11 pounds
Heba: Lost 7 pounds
Colleen: Lost 3 pounds
Amy: Lost 8 pounds (Yea! I like her.)
Vicky: Lost 6 pounds

Vicky & Colleen are below the yellow line. This will be VERY interesting...Amy has the swing vote once again.

And going home.......is Colleen. DANG. She didn't do it. Amy!!! You disappointed me twice this week! First the apology to Vicky about voting for Brady last week and NOW....you had a chance to clean the house out...and you didn't. Dern it.

Alright. Another week down. Just a few to go...

Biggest Loser Week 7, 10/28

Bob starts with a heart-to-heart to Vicky & Brady. I can’t really read Brady. Last week, I was so sure that he threw the weigh in (I still think so), but he pulled off a relatively convincing performance for Bob. Aha!, However, Bob seems to be onto Vicky’s devious streak.

Challenge: This or That
[Total aside: Have you guys seen the book “Eat This, Not That”? Great book. Has some shocking revelations in it about what to eat when you go out.]

Teams have to decide between two choices--which is the healthier plate of food. I thought they were all pretty obvious until the last one with Heba and Michelle (the grilled chicken burrito and the 18 bottles of light beer).

Team Blue and Team Black Controversy
Before I get to the he said/she said situation…One super annoying aspect of this show occurs when they return from commercial break. They play the 30 seconds that happened right before the commercial….AGAIN. We have to see, not a recap, but the exact same footage two times.

OK, back to the controversy at hand. Heba vs. Phil.

I never thought I’d say this, but I kinda miss the guys from last season (remember Mark, Dan, Roger and Mark‘s brother?). They REALLY annoyed me with all their “Team Blue” /Man Power/Testosterone driven workouts followed by bonding and tears.

Why, you ask, do I eat my words from last season and say that I'd like them back? Because there are far too many girls in this house right now. We need some more men in there to balance out the emotions! Heba is being so passive aggressive…”I’m the bigger person. I will forgive him. I can look Phil the eye and pity him…He doesn’t deserve to have a quality person in his life like me….”

Physical Challenge
Harnessed in the air, they are somehow rigged into a pulley system balanced with their own body weight? I didn’t quite catch the whole explanation, but it looks quite grueling. Talk about rope burn! Their poor hands will need some Burt’s Bees salve after this.

Renee is amazing. The fact that she hung on to 918 pounds for any amount of time…that’s just simply amazing. Heba was right that she is the Bionic woman when it comes to challenges.

Blue team won their first challenge. They will pick one black team member’s weight to discount at the weigh in.

Weigh In
Black Team:
Michelle: 200 (Lost 2 pounds)
***Her weight won’t count. This kind of backfired on the blue team--I guess they were banking on her having a big number.
Renee: 222 (Lost 3 pounds)
Colleen: 177 (Lost 2 pounds)
Phil: 269 (Lost 3 pounds)

Blue Team:
Brady: 270 (Lost 13 pounds)
****That is such a farce!!! He water loaded last week and so this amount shows the weight loss of 2 weeks. I hate it when they cheat. Michelle totally knows what’s going on. Bob…still playing dumb and acts like Brady just worked really hard and pulled it out.
Vicky: 201 (Lost 2 pounds)
Heba: 247 (Lost 6 pounds)
Amy C: 187 (Lost 6 pounds)
Blue team kicked the black team’s hiney in the weigh in. Even if Brady hadn’t cheated…they still would’ve won with just the girl’s stats.

Who’s Going Home?
Phil is talking like he wants to go home!
Wonder who…
….and it’s…..Phillip.
How’s he look now? Great! He really looks good--I like his new image with the total shaved head and goatee. Looks great.

Biggest Loser Week 6, Oct 21

Alright people, here we go. Another week at the ranch.

Blue team goes to Self-defense lessons. That would be so scary to see that big ol’ dude coming at you. My prediction: Heba gets it done. I think she’s going to take this dude down in a way no other class participant ever has. She takes care of business, now doesn’t she?

The Challenge
Balance…over water…round and round. 25 times.

Vicky is a sore loser in my mind. She totally downplayed the Black team’s victory (and her loss) in the challenge. “I didn’t really want to win. It was a lame prize anyway.” That is such poor sportsmanship! No love for Renee who just completely kicked it in that challenge!

Good, good. Bob is giving it to them. I am glad he sees the blue team’s pettiness for what it is. I agree--do your best no matter the prize. Full force effort.

Oh, and I really don’t like Vicky’s eye makeup either. (How’s that for petty?)

Last Chance Workout:
Jillian: “If you’re not puking, you’re just not working hard enough.”

Weigh In:
Black Team
Renee: Lost 7 pounds
Michelle: Lost 7 pounds
Colleen: Lost 8 pounds
Phil: Lost 7 pounds

How do you feel about that number? “I just hope it’s enough to help my team.” They always say that!

Blue Team
Amy: Lost 6 pounds
Heba: Lost 5 pounds
Vicky: Lost 8 pounds
Amy P: Lost 2 pounds

Amy’s upset about her small loss…afraid of going home, but I think she has nothing to worry about. Here’s why: before Brady weighs in, Michael & I have a theory to throw out there. Brady & Vicky are evil. They are going to completely throw this weigh in. They want to get rid of Heba. She’s the biggest threat by far and we’re guessing he has purposely water-loaded (drank a bunch of water before the weigh in) to make sure their blue team LOSES this week in order to vote Heba off. Did you see that little wink Brady gave Vicky when she went to weigh in? Did you see the raised eye brows he threw out from the scale? E-V-I-L.

Let’s see if we’re correct. I promise not to edit all that out if we turn out to be wrong…I’m live blogging, you see, so we’re just going with the honor system here.

Brady: Lost 3 pounds
He & Vicky are HORRIBLE actors!!! It’s all over their faces.
Do they not remember a few seasons ago when Neal pulled this same prank?

Anyways, black team is safe.
Blue team is not safe….and I would guess that Heba is the one getting the boot tonight.

Let's see if we're right: And...

We were WRONG. But only half wrong. I still think Vicky & Brady threw the weigh in.

Going home this week is...
Amy P.

Here's why that was the wrong choice for the team: Amy P is not a threat. Heba and Brady are stiff competition for each other for the big prize--Heba had her chance to throw Brady off. She should've taken it--she's got to know that Vicky & Brady are going to turn on her at some point, right?

OK, enough brain space taken up by all this for one week.

Your thoughts? post a comment!

Biggest Loser Week 5, October 14

First: My apologies. I never did get back on here and blog about the weigh in that happened on Wednesday night. So, here’s the summary:

Ed is gone. Heba is sad. He lost no weight last week and they went below the yellow line…so he went home since he lost a total of Z-E-R-O pounds last week.

The temptation was quite tempting…
That huge pile of Reese’s cups was amazing.
Heba took control and split the teams “her way.”

The challenge: 14 hours of mountain. Up and down. Down and up. Repeat.

Who won? The black team won….just barely! They got a 2 pound advantage at the next weigh in.

Jell-O paid a pretty penny to have the blue team sit around the pool eating those 10 calorie cups, now didn’t they?

CHEESE-O-RAMA DRAMA!!!! I can’t stand this whole storyline with Michelle and her dad vs. her mom…it is getting ridiculous. They are playing the drama up just to fill another 10 minutes each week or so. She feels like she’s betraying her dad’s trust if she loves her mom since her mom left her dad 6 years ago. OK, OK, we get it. Jillian is not a therapist, but she plays one on TV. Why is Michelle contemplating going home? This is simply ridiculous. Can I get a witness?

LOVE THE WEIGH IN!!! This is why I watch.
Black Team:
Michelle: Well, first things first. She decided to stay on the show instead of going home to be with her dad. Have I mentioned yet how ridiculous this is getting?
OK, she lost 7 pounds.
Renee: Lost 5 pounds
Phil: Lost 8 pounds
Colleen: Lost 5 pounds
Shellay: Lost 5 pounds

Blue Team:
Amy C: Lost 9 pounds
Vicky: Lost 6 pounds
Brady: Lost 6 pounds
Amy P: Lost 6 pounds
Heba: Lost 8 pounds

Black team faces elimination. If Michelle didn't have immunity for being this week's biggest loser, I'd SO send her booty home! She was all iffy this week about whether to stay or not. But, since that's not possible, so let's see who they vote off.....

And, it's....
Shellay.

And that was emotional. I am sad. I really, really liked Shellay.
Let's see how she's doing at home:
OH MY GOODNESS! WOWWEE! She looks absolutely amazing.
Way to go Shellay!

The Biggest Loser...that would be...ME!

Sorry BL fans. Went out to dinner tonight instead of blogging the BL weigh in for Week 4. Will try to catch a recap on nbc.com tomorrow and post.

Instead, catch up and read my dinner recap. It was delightful! Will post here shortly...

Biggest Loser, Week 4, Part 1, Oct 7

Welcome back to the ranch!

This week’s show will be cut short by an hour to make room for the Presidential debate.

“Bend your knees or I’m going to break them with this pole!” Jillian says to Shellay. Now that would certainly be motivating, wouldn’t it?

Trainer Tips: So, I can take ‘em or leave ‘em. In the first one, Jillian recommends doing jumping jacks during each commercial break to burn 300 calories while you watch the Biggest Loser. That’s a great idea…except the pizza I ate for dinner is still sitting in my stomach.

Endurance challenge:
Looks a little torturous. Tank full of water, merely a bar to hold onto and stand on…hold on the longest and win the challenge. That would kill your arms! Wow, at 45 minutes, still nobody has dropped out. Oops--there goes the first two. I cannot believe how long this is going on. 100 minutes now. Down to 2 ladies for the final 2!

Vicky pulls it out! Poor Amy…107 minutes of torture for nothing. WAIT! Not for nothing. Vicky gives them a care package too. She was a gracious winner.

Jillian is about to go off on her team in the gym. I am so scared of her. I would have nightmares about her. You can betcha if she gave me “homework” I would be terrified NOT to do it.

Can’t believe Amy just left the gym.

AND…no weigh in tonight. Will have to wait until tomorrow night for that.

To be continued…

The Biggest Loser, Week 3, Sept 30

[Sorry I’m coming into the show a little late…I was the soccer mom tonight and we just got home from practice.]

That said, we are pleased to join the broadcast of the Biggest Loser, already in progress:

I so want to go to the Grand Canyon.

In that camper.

I am, by no means, an outdoorsy type--so that RV is looking mighty fine. Camping is scary. Not that I’ve ever been, mind you, but from what I can tell, there would definitely be some bugs and dirt involved. Which is why I’ve chosen to take an RV next time I am in the mood to camp.

Which would be….never.

Back to the show:
Ed & Heba did great on the calorie-counting challenge. Had I been there, I would’ve completely taken the challenge to guess the calories. I would’ve gotten them all right too! I know my calories, I do.

Pink team girl summed my thoughts on camping up quite nicely: “I don’t know why people do this voluntarily.”

The canoe/rope pull Challenge was quite, um, what’s the word…challenging.

They are all ready to get back to the ranch! That’s good; they’re starting to “crave” the better, healthier lifestyle. It was hilarious seeing them with the medicine balls earlier--they didn’t know what in the heck to do with them. All gave up and went for a walk instead.

Back at the ranch:
There’s those Ziplock Vaccuum Sealer bags again. And, how many times have they given a plug for Extra Sugar Free gum?

That is one mighty last chance workout. BRUTAL.

Weigh in!!!
My favorite part:
But, there’s a catch…nobody will be voting tonight. One person from the team below the yellow line gets a ticket home. That’s just plain cruel. So divisive!

Red Team (Phil & Amy): Lost 15 pounds He made it below the 300 mark! Excellent-
Brown Team (Brady & Vicky): Lost 8 pounds.
Pink Team (Renee & Michelle): Lost 9 pounds
Orange Team (Ed & Heba): Lost 16 pounds. Ed also made it under the 300 mark. Awesome!
Purple Team (Amy & Shellay): Lost 9 pounds.
Yellow Team (Jerry & Colleen): Lost 5 pounds total (she lost 7...he gained 2)

BUT, here's the silver lining...this makes is VERY easy to decide who will go home. He's in such bad health...seems like he was holding her back. He just can't compete. This was the team that logically needed to go beneath the yellow line. This is all just my humble opinion...of course, I am not there to advise them and Colleen is doing her best to convince dad to stay there.

So...now we wait for one hour...to find out who will go home from the yellow team. Thanks to the magic of television, we really only have to wait through one commercial break to find out.

AND...IT'S.....curtains for...Jerry!

Let's see how Jerry's doing today:
Wow--he looks great!!! Lots of exercise. He looks like a different guy. Amazing. He looks 10 years younger. He's lost 70 pounds. And, here's what Michael had to say about that: "That's really good because I was afraid they were going to say he had died." Always seeing the silver lining, that Michael.

See you back at the ranch next week!

Tuesday, September 23, 2008

The Biggest Loser, Week 2, 9/23

And, we’re back for another week of calorie burning, muscle building and backstabbing. All in the name of weight loss, so it's all good, right?

[Editorial note: please forgive any holes you might find here. It’s bedtime for the kiddos and I’m multi-tasking while BL is airing.]

Let’s see how week 2 goes at the ranch. Week 2 usually disappoints, Bob says.

Pink team…Michelle has some big tears…I called this one last week. I knew they’d need an on-site psychologist to deal with the family baggage she brought with her. Jillian is dishing out some BAD, b-a-d, BAD marriage advice. Wow. She needs to stick with the personal trainer gig.

Who knew that doing the slip & slide could count as exercise?!?

Hey, they’re at Kroger with Rocco DiSpirito. I was JUST at Kroger this afternoon, but Rocco was not there. The menus all sound delicious. Not as delicious as the brownies I’m about to put in the oven…but delicious nonetheless, in their own healthy way. That Rocco is full of produce picking advice.

Enough with all the product placements! They are SO obvious. Ziplock Zip & Steam bags, Subway, and Extra gum have all made obnoxious attempts at getting our attention this episode.

Last Chance Workout:
Bob is getting a little mean in the gym. He’s on the “don’t touch the treadmill” bandwagon now too. I have to be honest: I would probably cry if I did one workout with these two trainers. They’re mean.

AAAAHHHH yes! The weigh in! Get ready for lots of drama, scale beeps, and camera shots to everybody’s face coupled with a dramatic pause as they cut to commercial about 9 times in the next 20 minutes. And you know they’ll make Jerry & Colleen (yellow) go last since they’re on the line about winning $10,000 if they lose 13+ pounds.

Weigh In:
Brown: Vicky/Brady lost 11 pounds
Purple: Shellay/Amy lost 6 pounds
Pink: Renee/Michelle lost 7 pounds
Red: Amy/Phil lost 12 pounds
Orange: Ed/Heba lost 11 pounds
Gray: Tom/LT lost ZERO pounds Don’t know how that is possible…at the “ranch”…to gain weight, but they did.
Yellow: Colleen/Jerry lost 11 pounds. DANG! They didn't make the 14 pounds they needed. I think they're going to be leaving the ranch tonight.

Elimination:
Enough, Brady, enough! He is really on my nerves with the 'tude.
OK, so now onto business. DIRTY POOL! Orange team backstabbed the gray team! They were supposed to keep them on since gray saved orange last week.

The team who will be leaving us tonight is....
GRAY.

Let's see how they look now.
Tom has made major health improvements! Awesome--no more pills.
LT has lost 81 pounds. Looking good! No more fettuccini with 2 jars of alfredo sauce.

See you back at the ranch next week.

The Biggest Loser, Week 1 9/16

It's finally on!

I'm watching it as I type--will sort of do a "live blog."

Oh, y'all, I get so emotional when they're emotional. These opening shots in the gym where Bob & Jillian are pushing them beyond their limits always make me tear up. They don't think they can do it...tears...anger...Jillian cussing...it's just too much for me sometimes!

Red Team: Amy (229 lbs) & Phillip (331 lbs), Greenville, SC. RED TEAM. Love her mother's accent. Yes, people really do talk like that in the south. Man, is she excited to see Bob. I think I would be too. Minus the tattoos, of course. Is Bob wearing a button down church shirt with sweat pants here? Doesn't matter. I'd still be glad to see him.

Gray Team: Tom (314) & Tom (LT) (357). Father & Son from Boston, MA. Oh my. That alfredo recipe he's talking about is something else. Sounds delicious...but breakfast, lunch and dinner?

Orange Team: Ed (335) & Heba (294) Newlyweds from Raleigh, NC. He's a chef. He eats Cheese Doodles while he's cooking.

Purple Team: Shellay (216) and Amy (239). Mother & Daughter from Detroit, MI. I have a feeling Amy rocks this season, a la Ali from last year.

Brown Team: Vicki (246) & Brady (341). (All-American Family) Houma, LA. Bob is hilarious! Coming out there all cute in the donut uniform.

Pink Team: Renee (267) & Michelle (242), Estranged mom & daughter from Dallas, TX. Oh my...the issues are vast here--we're going to need an on-site psychologist for this season. Jillian's mom may need to come back and do some one-on-ones again.

Green Team: Adam (340) & Stacy (221), married. Washington, DC. My money's on them. Seems like they have a good marriage and that will take them far here. How funny would it be if you were eating lunch and Bob Harper walked in all cute & said "what are y'all having for lunch?"

Yellow Team: Jerry (380) & Colleen (218), policeman father/daughter team from Cleveland, OH. I love that he just said "she's no joke, she's a superstar." Love that sweet daddy talk. Oh, and Jillian, you don't need a gun. You could take anybody, anyday with no guns but your biceps.

Final Weigh In:
Yellow Team: Lost 27 pounds. Pretty good for one week's work...especially since Jerry couldn't workout all day like everybody else (Dr restricted him to 30 min/day).

Orange Team: Lost 29 pounds.

Pink Team: Lost 31 pounds.

Gray Team: Tom & LT...lost...an AMAZING 42 pounds. WOW. Can you imagine losing 24 pounds in 1 week?!? Simply amazing.

Red Team: Lost 39 pounds.

Green Team: Lost 28 pounds. Stacey looks so bummed--only on this show would you be disappointed about losing "only" 9 pounds in a week. Still awesome to me.

Purple Team: Lost 29 pounds.

AND...as the brown team steps up to weigh in, I know from previous seasons that they will do a big lead up...drama...beep beep beep beep as the scale numbers bounce around...show everybody's shocked expression...and COMMERCIAL BREAK. You must torture yourself for the next 2 minutes during a commercial break wondering just what happened on the scale for the brown team.........and, we're back:

Brown Team: Lost 47 pounds. WOW. They stay above the yellow line. Blowing kisses to Bob. The 2 pound penalty from the challenge didn't even phase them!

Now for the vote off--
And, it is the green team. Confession: I thought at first that they were going to be a force to be reckoned with. Ellen-o was wrong-o.

Michael just said, "Ow! It kills me when the turn the light off in their refrigerator."

Updates...Green team has ROCKED IT since they got home. They look tremendous! Way to go Green team.

Funny Lines:
"This is a great gym. This is an awesome gym. I'm gonna throw up all over this place." Orange Team guy

"We're gonna do this one of two ways. My Way, or My Way MAD." (Jillian during 1st workout)

"Do not touch that treadmill, Jerry. I'll break your hands off." (Jillian again.)

Hope you got to watch along with me! Looks to be a really exciting season.

Oh, and in case you're wondering, if there are any typos, it's because my keyboard is a little sticky...I was eating Publix Tiramisu Light Ice Cream while I watched The Biggest Loser. Irony, anyone?

The Biggest Loser

This is a big week--The Biggest Loser premieres on Tuesday night and I will be watching. If you've never watched this show, do yourself a favor and tune in. It's reality TV, true, but it is reality TV that changes people's lives for the better! SO inspiring! Now granted, I watch it most of the time while I am eating my nightly bowl of ice cream, but it does make me push it a little harder at the gym the next day. (And, of course, my ice cream is always Edy's Slow Churned 1/2 the Fat).

The theme this season is "Families." Bob & Jillian will be back with a vengeance to turn these people into pictures of health & wellness.

So tune in & follow along as I blog about it this season.

NBC, Tuesday nights at 7pm.
